Paid Internship Opportunities for the 2020 Saint Louis Art Fair!

Cultural Festivals (CF) producers of the Saint Louis Art Fair (SLAF) presented by Centene Charitable Foundation.
Mission: Inspire and engage our community with the foremost celebration of exceptional Art.
About the Saint Louis Art Fair: SLAF is an annual celebration of the visual and performing arts featuring artists from across the world. From September 11-13, 2020, 180+ visual artists that have been selected by a distinguished panel of judges will exhibit and sell their original work in booths located on the streets of Downtown Clayton. SLAF also features the “Creative Castle” which gives children the opportunity to participate in structured art activities designed to stimulate the creative process. Performing artists and ensembles entertain audiences on two different stages offering a greater understanding of the arts. Additionally, an impressive array of fine foods, served by some of St. Louis' finest restaurants, will fill the festival's restaurant row, the Pleasures of the Palate. Over 130,000 people attend this event each year.
The Internship Experience: These internship positions will provide valuable office experience in non-profit development and management and provides opportunities to establish cooperative relationships which extend beyond the internship program. In addition, these internships give Cultural Festivals an opportunity to survey and evaluate prospective employees.
SLAFs team approach to special event management mandates that all interns possess a keen sense of self-motivation, the ability to work positively with a variety of personality types and leadership styles, and the capacity to be flexible and to embrace change. Interns should possess and demonstrate a high standard of integrity and professionalism and a strong interest in the arts.
The internship is full-time with a stipend. Internships begin after Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. All interns are required to be present for art fair weekend (September 11-13, 2020). Must be a current college student or recent graduate.
GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP
Assist with internal graphic design and information technology including, but not limited to:
·     Create the look and feel of the 2020 SLAF including banners, signage, badges, program guide, etc.
·     Create promotional material including advertisements, posters, flyers, programs, etc.
·     Assist in maintaining SLAF website
·     Work in partnership with social media intern to provide stimulating marketing materials for print and web content
·     Design e-mail communications to engage SLAF audiences
·     Assist with special projects as needed
Requirements:
Applicant must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Applicant must be proficient with Mac OS. Applicant will possess the ability to shift priorities quickly and easily Applicant will be well-organized with the ability to work on several projects at one time while working quickly and efficiently with great attention to detail. Applicant will be able to work in team and individual settings.
SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP
Assist with social media/marketing tactics to engage SLAF audiences including, but not limited to:
·     Maintain social media calendars and post scheduling
·     Create and post content to promote SLAF on social media platforms including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and Twitter
·     Monitor blogs, forums, and social networks of festival partners
·     Create and analyze social media reports linked to audience interaction including follower counts, clicks, shares, retweets, etc.
·     Plan and outline promotion using SLAF social media platforms
·     Grow the SLAF audience following on social media platforms
·     Keyword analysis to reach and understand SLAF audience interaction
Requirements:
Applicant must be currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media or Broadcasting, or another related field. Applicant will have knowledge of WordPress. Applicant will have a familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design skills. Applicant must have the ability to work with various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Applicant will have superb verbal and written communication skills as well as editing skills. Applicant will possess the ability to shift priorities quickly and easily Applicant will be well-organized with the ability to work on several projects at one time while working quickly and efficiently with great attention to detail. Applicant will be able to work in team and individual settings.

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP
Assist the Director of Operations & Programming with festival logistics and programming including, but not limited to:

·      Site planning
·      Public safety
·      Environmental issues – “greening” the event
·      Select and perform research projects as needed which may include cost analysis for tools and/or equipment, artist’s venue histories, etc.
·      Assist in preparing and managing contracts
·      Provide festival information to artists
·      Manage Creative Castle activities
·      Create internal on-site informational documents/manuals
·      Volunteer coordination
·      Assist with coordination of volunteers including program committees such as Merchandise, Guest Relations, Artist Relations, etc.
 
Requirements:
Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel. Applicant must be personable and dedicated to providing quality service and work. Applicant will possess the ability to shift priorities quickly and easily. Applicant will be well-organized with the ability to work on several projects at one time while working quickly and efficiently with great attention to detail. Applicant will be able to work in team and individual settings.

SPONSORSHIP DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Assist the Executive Director with sponsor relations and solicitation including, but not limited to:

·      Seek new funding opportunities
·      Write sponsor proposals
·      Assist with sponsor renewals and the preparation and execution of contracts
·      Ensure contract terms with sponsors are executed
·      Track all sponsor communication
·      Maintain sponsor database
·      Create sponsorship fulfillment reports
·      Coordinate sponsorship activation before and during 2020 SLAF
Requirements:
Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel. Applicant will possess the ability to shift priorities quickly and easily.
