The Paramedic collects assessment data on all patients; performs and documents assessments; ensures patient is properly identified; identifies patient/patient’s family needs; implements patient care guidelines and/or protocols; assists with procedure/tests; evaluates and documents patient/patient’s family response to treatment and progress; identifies significant changes or high risk situations in patient’s condition and takes appropriate action; performs personal cares; keeps patients and family members informed; demonstrates safe driving habits; completes daily operator maintenance of vehicles; demonstrates ability to adjust own schedule; assists with coordination and preparation of transfer and documents charge level. Patients cared for include infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age for liability purposes.
•  Valid National Registry Paramedic Certification only upon hire.
•  Valid North Dakota and Minnesota State Paramedic license.
•  Valid driver’s license.
•   Valid ACLS.
•   Graduate from a Paramedic Education Program consisting of a minimum of 1,000 hours curriculum for Paramedic that meets or exceeds the current US DOT National Standard.
• Registration by the North Dakota State Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant or
• Registration by North Dakota State Department of Health as a Nurse Aide or
•  Those who have in the past never been licensed or certified as a Nurse Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant may obtain registration by the North Dakota State Department of Health within the first four (4) months of employment.
• Successful completion of functional assessment.
Preferred:
• Associate degree in Paramedicine.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).
•  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
