Education & Outreach Coordinator

Metro Waste Authority has a fun position open for the right candidate! The Education and Outreach coordinator plays a vital role in educating a wide variety of audiences on topics such as recycling, landfilling, hazardous waste, and other environmental initiatives. This position builds important relationships with community groups to further the mission and understanding of our programs.
Below is a sampling of the responsibilities managed by this position:
  • Represents MWA in classrooms, educating students and teachers, as well as adult learners about recycling, responsible disposal practices, composting, litter prevention, and other related topics.
  • Seeks opportunities to build relationships with new and existing community partners to educate residents about managing waste and environmental stewardship
  • Creates fresh, creative messages and curricula to educate targeted audiences
  • Coordinates and conducts facility tours
  • Manages and promotes MWA’s event recycling and grant programs
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a field related to the position
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in positions that include outreach, training and development, teaching, program management, communications, and/or public relations.
  • Valid driver’s license
