Coatings Technology Summer Internship
Chemours is seeking a Coatings Technology Summer Internship to join our growing Titanium Technologies Business team! This position will report directly to the Technical Director in our Newark, DE location and will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week from.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Daily activities:
- Design of lab experiments
- Formulation of waterborne paint systems
- Preparation of coating and dispersion samples
- Analyzing properties of coatings (such as color, thickness, adhesion, water resistance)
Goals:
- Optimizing paint formulations
- Understanding impacts of TiO2 pigment on coating properties
- Building an electrochemical test method to evaluate coating quality
Responsibilities
- Performing literature searches and reviews
- Analyzing data and building models
- Writing experimental plans and results
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- Current enrollment at an accredited university in chemistry or chemical engineering
- Direct lab experience and familiarity with electrochemical instrumentation
- Ability to quickly learn new analytical tools
- A junior or senior at a four-year college, or a graduate student
- Attention to detail and pro-active willingness to learn new techniques and methods
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Experience with Minitab
- Experience designing experiments using a statistical approach (DOE)
- Experience with paint making or testing
- Experience with electrochemical test method
- 3.5 GPA or above
