Writing and Content Spring 2020 Internship

Are you a storyteller? An aspiring journalist, blogger or ad copywriter? All of the above? Then we need you! One of the many things that sets our organization apart is our strong commitment to telling the story of our work and those we serve, from digital video and photography to blogs, social media and more. The Content Intern will help us organize our vast reserve of interview transcripts and content, while also translating those materials into compelling blog posts that will advance our brand, raise funds and drive awareness about the No Kid Hungry campaign’s work to end childhood hunger in America.
Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Review, organize and catalogue interview transcripts and visual content, making these resources more easily available to the teams that need them.Identify the most useful content for the organization’s fundraising, awareness and other needs.
  • Craft blog posts based on existing material in order to draw traffic to our website and increase attention around pressing topics and organizational successes.
  • Provide copy review on external-facing materials.
  • Assist in migrating online storytelling content to increase SEO and web traffic.
  • Coordinate with social media team to distribute and promote created blog posts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  •  Currently enrolled or have earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, creative writing, marketing or a related field.
  • Strong interest in storytelling for a cause, communications, communication material production processes and digital communications.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills and social media savvy.
  • Detail orientation and strong organizational skills a must.
  • Exceptional ability to work in a fluid, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess willingness to handle multiple administrative tasks.
