NKH Program - Field Team Spring 2020 Internship

The Field Team Intern will support the No Kid Hungry campaign and its mission to end childhood hunger in America by assisting with communications, research, and administrative duties. As part of their work with the Field Team, the intern will support the No Kid Hungry state campaigns in their work to develop resources and improve access to school meals. The intern will conduct research and organize information for the field team based in Washington, DC. 
Duties and Responsibilities
  •  Assist team members with program management activities.
  • Assist with management of internal databases and the tracking systems to measure program progress.
  • Conduct academic or web-based research and/or craft materials such as issue briefs, case studies, and one-pagers.
  • Support staff in planning and organizing events or webinars to support internal and/or external partners.
  • Suggest comments to improve new or existing resources available through the Center for Best Practices.
  • Copy edit materials (issue briefs, case studies, and one-pagers) for publishing.
  • Review and process participant surveys and database management.
  • Conduct data analysis and mapping to inform campaign strategies.
  • Assist with projects, internal record-keeping, and content collection.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing and mailing.
  • Other tasks and day-to-day duties, as assigned.
Required Skills
  •  Excellent and proven research and writing skills.
  • Must be enrolled in a higher-educational program (degree-seeking).
  • Interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Available to work 20-40 hours per week.
