Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager

Hours for the Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager will typically be 12pm – 8:30pm.

Job Description
As our Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager you will lead a great team of dining professionals including dietary aides and wait staff to assure that our residents have a 5-star dining experience with every meal. You will create and evaluate training and impact plans for team members that focus on top quality service standards. You will be a champion of hospitality while working closely with the chefs and dietician to meet residents' nutritional expectations. Creating work schedules, team member performance management and engagement are other important responsibilities of the Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager.
In addition, the Hospitality/Food & Beverage Manager takes the lead in coordinating special meal functions throughout the campus. Duties:
*Maintain work schedule for normal operation for the Independent Living Dining Room and the Bistro as well a special evets/catering functions.
*Main contact for all residents around their fine dining experience.
*Maintain nutrition data base for current menu ensuring that all portion size and special diets are maintained and communicated to serving staff.
*Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) of food and plating standards before it is served to the community.
*Maintain Dish Machine temp log ensuring that the machine is tested for temperature limits on a daily basis.
*Train, organize and supervisor IL servers during dinner meal time (prep, meal, clean up).
*Communicate with kitchen staff around all dietary needs of the residents.
*Meet with Food & Beverage Director as well as Executive Director weekly to discuss upcoming events and menu needs. Include other staff as needed in the conversations.
*Complete an accurate inventory on a monthly basis and communicate to the Food & Beverage Director on the first of every month.
*Maintains a neat and tidy area which includes all essential dining and kitchen areas (walk in refrigerator/freezer, dry storage area) including floors.
*Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
*At least two years of experience in a health care or hospitality setting, preferably in dining and/or administration.
*Must possess or be willing to obtain the Serve Safe Certification within 90 days of employment.
*Prior supervisory experience preferred, preferably in fine dining.
*Must maintain professionalism with attitude, appearance, and able to work with all team members.
*Demonstrated intermediate or better computer skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be self-directed.
*Must be well organized and flexible with the ability to multi-task comfortably.
*Because you will be working in the home of our residents, we will expect you to be able to communicate, read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
