Paid Intern - Humanitarian Services, SLC, UT - Food Security and Clean Water

PURPOSES
This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. This position would provide an intern a year-long, full-time opportunity to support international development work in food security and clean water.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to the food security and clean water team to develop and implement a framework for monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL). As part of this effort, the intern will be expected to capture and analyze data for decision making and develop training materials for volunteers and global staff. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of a Request For Proposal (RFP) process and developing a resource library specific to food security/nutrition. The intern will perform a variety of tasks that support staff and volunteers, including project support, drafting of presentations/program documents, research and analysis, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education, experience and/or interest in international public health and development;
  • Experience and interest in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL);
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with databases;
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to work both independently and with a team;
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Paid interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

WORTHINESS QUALIFICATION
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
