Primary Objection of Position: 
The general accountant will be an integral member of the general accounting team and key focus on maintaining accurate financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data, maintaining strong accounting records and partnering with business and functional areas.  

Key Areas of Responsibility:  
  • Actively participate in the month-end close process, post certain month-end journal entries, and preparation of monthly financial reports in accordance with policies
  • Performs timely, complete and accurate reconciliations of accounting and financial records and systems within required time frames. Researches reconciling differences and errors, and processes correcting journal entries to maintain accurate financial records in a timely manner.  
  • Maintaining chart of account information 
  • Interacts with the businesses and functional areas on transaction issues and outstanding reconciling items.  
  • Supports accounting projects and processes within the department.  
  • Supports and maintains certain key controls  
  • Actively participates in working with internal and external auditors 
  • Responsible for all accounting related to fixed assets for book and tax, including acquisitions, transfers, placed in service, cost center changes, retirements and balance sheet reconciliations and physical inventory cycle count. 
  • Run monthly depreciation and verify transactions 
  • Balance sheet reconciliation of fixed asset accounts, including aging of suspense accounts. 
  • Participate in fixed asset physicals  

Requirements 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university and minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • CPA or CMA and public accounting experience preferred. 
  • Experience with general ledger and related activities in the fixed asset process.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX is preferred.

  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to learn and use multiple systems and applications. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
