Operations Intern, Summer 2020

Overview

Rise Interactive (http://www.riseinteractive.com), a rapidly growing full service interactive advertising agency, is looking to hire Operations Interns for our Employee Services (Human Resources), Finance, and Marketing teams during the Summer of 2020.  We are looking for detail-oriented and motivated candidates who are excited to learn more about digital marketing at an award winning agency.

This is a full-time, ten (10) week program working in our Chicago/Loop office from June 1st through August 7th. All applications must be received by February 29th, 2020.

Summary and Scope

The Operations Intern will have superior analytical, organizational and time management skills as they will be expected to be able to work on multiple projects at the same time. This role displays a service-oriented, positive attitude coupled with an appreciation of business realities. Under the Employee Services team, the intern will complete the internship across Talent Acquisition/Recruiting, Talent Management and Compliance. The Finance Intern will work on A/R and A/P projects, support month end close, and update company forecasts. The Marketing Intern will work on Rise’s branding and marketing measurement, including social media, paid media campaigns, website improvements, and event support.

Responsibilities:

Employee Services Responsibilities:
  • Conduct candidate research to identify candidates on platforms such as LinkedIn, etc.
  • Utilize Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to review resumes and manage candidate flow
  • Update job descriptions as needed and search through various job boards
  • Assist in onboarding scheduling, paperwork, and activities for new hires
  • Learn interviewing best practices for phone and behavioral Interviews
  • Understand compliance expectations through employee documentation, benefits administration and employment verifications
  • Assist with Talent Management responsibilities including, but not limited to, support of the performance management process, training and development programs, and engagement action planning and activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational programs and services through reporting and data analysis
Finance Responsibilities:
  • Learn and collaborate with all functions of our Finance Team with a focus on Budgeting and Forecasting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month end procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of forecasts and work with budget owners on cost analysis projects
  • Enter AP invoices, process AP payments, and follow-up on vendor inquiries
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable collections, invoicing, client media reconciliations
  • Support our month-end close processes by preparing journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and variance analysis
Marketing Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Rise’s organic social media presence by executing content on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter via Hootsuite
  • Support the digital strategy and account management teams by maintaining Rise’s branded product inventory and fulfilling swag requests
  • Provide recommendations for optimization relative to marketing performance by analyzing Google Analytics and other performance data
  • Author content for Rise’s lead nurturing and branding efforts, including social media, email campaigns and blog copy
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of Rise events by maintaining company-wide calendar and pitching relevant events to attend

Required Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Marketing, or Human Resources or a related field
  • Advanced analytical ability to translate data while understanding the greater business impact
  • Demonstrates strategic and creative thinking with a focus on innovative and measurable client solutions
  • Understanding of digital marketing a plus
  • Self-directed and results-and detail-oriented
  • Deeply familiar and passionate about the World Wide Web and online marketing
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and productivity
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to new situations
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google
