Hardware - Electronic Systems Integration Internship (Fall 2020)

The Role
The electronics system integration intern is responsible for defining and prototyping low voltage vehicle functions in all passenger vehicles. We are looking for passionate hands on engineers who are familiar with both hardware and software debug. This role will require highly cross-functional problem solving skills in multiple engineering domains. You will be working on a physical part of the vehicle that will be on the final product.  
 
Responsibilities
  • Drive the design and execution of low voltage subsystems
  • Distill vehicle product requirements into constraints and actionable engineering systems design discussions
  • Define system hardware and software interfaces
  • Develop early working system prototypes to de-risk new technologies
  • Execute initial system bring-up and integration testing at the vehicle level to validate new designs
  • Support system validation teams in developing electrical and software test plans
  • Use field data to improve design and performance of the system
 
Requirements
  • Candidate for Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineer, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Within 24 months of obtaining such a degree
  • Strong electrical fundamentals and
  • Strong embedded systems fundamentals
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex subsystems involving network microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret C/C++ or similar embedded systems languages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •  Experience in MATLAB, Python, C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
  • Proficient in data visualization

Preferred Skills
  • Student design team experience highly preferred
