Formulation Stability Modeling - Summer Intern (1917480)

Description:
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Material and Analytical Sciences department located at our Ridgefield, Connecticut facility. As an Intern, you will work closely with the ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) group to study the stability behavior of ATMP entities and formulations including peptide, oligonucleotide and oncolytic virus using a combination of experimental approaches and in silico modeling. You should be interested in learning and understanding the stability characteristics of various ATMP entities and formulations. You should be able to perform analytical and biochemical assays as required, and you should have the knowledge to develop empirical/mathematical models when necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities:
·      Collaborate with members in the ATMP group to develop chromatographic/thermometric methods, bioassays and other analytical methods as required
·      Independently perform experiments in the lab
·      Develop empirical/mathematical models and perform statistical analysis
·      Conduct literature research on relevant topics
·      Conduct data analysis and generate reports
Requirements:
Must be a PhD candidate in a related scientific field (chemistry/biochemistry, pharmaceutics or engineering).
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
·      The ability to work independently and on a team
·      Hands-on experiences in chromatographic, thermometric, bioassays or other analytical techniques
·      Knowledge in chemical and physical changes of peptide, protein and nucleic acid under the influence of environmental conditions
·      Knowledge in statistics and modeling
·      Previous internship experience in a related field is a plus
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
