Summer Intern

Do you want a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in government and public policy with one of the most professional and forward-thinking county governments in the nation?

McHenry County, Illinois, is looking for hard-working, dynamic students to join us for our summer internship program. You will get hands-on experience in government and public policy working with the Chairman of the McHenry County Board.

McHenry County is home to more than 307,000 people in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago, where the suburbs give way to open farmland. Interns will gain experience in handling the needs, concerns and planning priorities of urban and rural residents.

This internship is unpaid and may count for college credit. The office’s hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but are flexible. There also are opportunities for weekend work.
