Job Summary
The Childhood Center for Cancer Research (CCCR) Registry and Repository is seeking a full-time CRC I-The goal of the Childhood Center for Cancer Research (CCCR) Registry and Repository is to collect and store patient data from medical records and specimens including tumor biopsy specimens, blood samples, skin samples, fibroblast lines, saliva samples, buccal samples, bone marrow and/or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to facilitate future research.
The CRC I will be a member of the Center for Childhood Cancer Research (CCCR) Biorepository Team and will be responsible for the identification and consenting of patients for participation in the CCCR Registry and Biorepository. This individual will be the primary point of contact for study participants and will be in regular contact with patients’ families and medical team. These recruitment related duties will require an individual with great attention to detail for properly identifying applicable patients. We are seeking an individual with healthy communication and networking skills to coordinate efforts amongst various departments in the institution.

The CRCI will also be responsible for the data entry and follow up procedures for participants who’ve consented to the study. In addition to these responsibilities, they will be cross trained on all aspects of specimen procurement and processing within the lab setting and will share in these efforts when needed; I.E. when covering for another team member who is out or in the event of an influx of samples.

Job Responsibilities
Core responsibilities
  • Adhere to an IRB approved protocol
  • Participate in the informed consent process of study subjects
  • Support the safety of clinical research patients/research participants
  • Coordinate protocol related research procedures, study visits, and follow-up care
  • Screen, recruit and enroll patients/research participants
  • Maintain study source documents
  • Report adverse events
  • Understand good clinical practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance
  • Educate subjects and family on protocol, study intervention, etc.
  • Comply with Institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines
  • Must comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies
 
Related responsibilities
  • Manage essential regulatory documents
  • Register study on ClinicalTrial.gov
  • Complete case report forms (paper & electronic data capture) and address queries
  • Submit documents to regulatory authorities (e.g. IRB, FDA, etc.) and/or review/monitoring boards (ie, DSMB, independent safety officer)
  • Facilitate pre-study, site qualification, study initiation, and monitoring visit
  • Facilitate study close out activities
  • Coordinate research/project team meetings
  • Collect, process and ship laboratory specimens
  • Schedule subject visits and procedures
  • Retain records/archive documents after study close out

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Required Education and Experience
Required Education: Associates Degree or active enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree Program
 
Required Experience: Three (3) years of relevant clinical research experience.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
