Laboratory Analyst
Job Summary/Scope
Runs laboratory tests on various types of water samples for process control and regulatory compliance. Collects various types of plant and environmental samples. Maintains complete and accurate records on test data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes water and wastewater samples using wet chemistry, spectroscopy, spectrometry, ISE meters, and other techniques on automated and manual laboratory equipment.
- Obtains wastewater, biosolids, and other types of samples from the Water Protection Facility, Industrial Users, and other various sources in St. Joseph as needed.
- Operates and maintains manual and automated sampling equipment.
- Operates, repairs, calibrates and performs preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
- Records test results and maintains accurate and complete logs and laboratory database records.
- Participates in routine Missouri River sampling.
- Cleans laboratory workspaces, equipment and sample containers daily.
- Utilizes Laboratory and Operations databases daily including data entry, report generation, and configuration.
- Follows established Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assists with future SOP development.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
