Intern, Program Management

Position Summary :

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking an Intern, Program Management to join Sony’s Global Information Security Department (GISD) located in Herndon, VA. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Program Management and be a part of the team responsible for the program management function that enables the planning and execution of an enterprise cyber security strategy across Sony. The Intern will participate in a variety of learning activities such as ‘lunch and learn’ etc. in project management and cyber security areas.   
 
The GISD summer internship program runs for twelve weeks beginning in May and ending in August. Our program is designed to provide skills, knowledge, and hands-on work experience in the information security industry, supporting the personal growth of our interns as well as Sony business results.
This role is a fulltime, paid internship.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the project management of complex, multi-disciplinary cyber security projects that span the globe; responsibilities include:

  • Develop and update project schedules, identify risks and communicate them to project stakeholders, and create project management artifacts (project reports, communication plans etc.)
  • Perform analysis of data and project metrics and develop recommendations/presentations to senior executives
  • Assist with the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Complete a capstone project, which is a key component of Sony’s 2020 internship program

Qualifications:

  • Meets one or more of the following requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program
  • Currently enrolled in a technical or certificate program
  • Recent graduate of a degree-seeking or technical program, within one year of completion
  • Bachelor’s (in-progress), or Master’s degree (in-progress), preferably in Computer Science, Business, Management, or a related field
  • Strong interest in project management and cyber security
  • Passion to learn and contribute in a matrix team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use MS Office programs including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA
