Senior SharePoint Developer & Administrator NF4

Serves as senior developer and administrator for MCCS SharePoint and Project Server platforms.
Designs and develops solutions to provide daily support for the Marine Corps Community Services Corporate Intranet built on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and SharePoint 2010. Provides hands on support to a highly collaborative web based environment that services MCCS Headquarters, worldwide installations and individual teams utilizing out of the box MOSS 2007 technologies and SharePoint 2010 features. Assists in the design, architecture, availability, reliability and security of MOSS 2007 server and SharePoint 2010 environments. Works closely with development staff to provide technical expertise, advice and support for production development efforts. Provides administration and configuration of Project server 2010. Plans and organizes work and manage internal procedures and resources to ensure maximal productivity and economies in support of SharePoint and Project server.

Performs administration, configuration, and integrity check of all SharePoint components (server processes, user permissions and rights, event logs, profile import, timer job status, disk utilization, search scopes). Creates or extends web applications, content databases, and site collections as required. Deploys site admin templates and server admin templates as required.
Performs industry best practices concerning backup configuration, implementation, and monitoring.

Performs administration, configuration and integrity check of all project server components and its SharePoint part (work space, templates, Projects). Supports existing Project server’s reports and develops new ones as requested.

Supports developers in the deployment of SharePoint related solutions (e.g. addition of custom web parts). Collaborates with customers and Business Analyst and recommends the best solution for their requests. Creates Custom Lists, Document Libraries, Content Types, Views, Site and Page Templates. Creates multi-step workflows using SharePoint Designer/Visual Studio. Develops solutions using out of the box (OOB) MOSS 2007 features and SharePoint 2010 features. Provides training and end user customer support as required. Improves SharePoint capabilities by evaluating and integrating third-party solutions. Documents all customizations on sites and site collections of Sharepoint. Documents configurations and customizations on Project Server.

Relays instructions from web services supervisor. Gets work started. Sets work pace. Demonstrates work methods, and provides work-related guidance. Ensures worksite materials and tools are available to complete work. Reports workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the immediate supervisor. Checks with supervisor on problems. Checks on work and meets productivity goals. Ensures employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules. Conducts on-the-job training and instructions. Performs supervisory duties in an emergency, or short-term and nonrecurring basis.  Responsible for cross-training the team and mentoring backup team members.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND three years of year experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007and /or SharePoint 2010 OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 2007/2010 desktop applications. Must be proficient with MOSS 2007 and SharePoint administration using Central Admin, STSADM and 3rd party tools. Must be proficient with SharePoint customization through the use of web parts and SharePoint Designer. Must have experience with Project Server, Microsoft Windows 2008 server and IIS. Have experience with the .NET Framework, Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, SQL Server, InfoPath. Must have excellent written, oral communication.

This position has been designated as a position of trust. The incumbent must be eligible for an Access National Agency Check and Inquires (ANACI/ Tier 3) background investigation to satisfy IT Level II designation. Appointment and continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation.

As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment, and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training.
