Entrepreneurship Internship Program

Can’t decide between studying or interning abroad this summer? Do both! If you’ve ever wanted to experience Australian startup & business culture in Melbourne, The Hacker Exchange is proud to welcome you to our spiritual home. A true startup immersion experience, the HEX+ program is for students who want to work on their own business ideas while gaining professional experience interning at some of Melbourne’s most exciting startups.

To apply for the program, you are encouraged to have an early-stage business idea or concept. You will also work with our partner (Outcome.Life) to secure a guaranteed internship that challenges and supports your personal & professional goals and is in-line with your university requirements. We’ll also have pre-departure online meetups so you can get to know your cohort.

Global Innovation (Week 1)
Start with an idea, problem, or passion — and learn what it takes to transform it into a scaleable startup business or a global social movement. Learn about why many founders choose Australia as their home base and learn the inner workings of Aussie business culture. Practical workshops and mentor sessions will guide you through the ideation process and exploratory phase so you’re ready to pitch.

Global Innovation (Week 2)
Get an intimate insight into what’s trending in Australian startups and how you can stay ahead of the curve. Visit tech giants, local startups, and attend meetups with real investors and founders. Get inspired with Australia's creative tech scene, and polish your pitching skills with our presentation coaching workshops.

Startup Internship (8-10 weeks)
you’ll get your hands dirty working on real business problems alongside CEOs, CMOs and CTOs at some of Melbourne’s most exciting and innovative startup companies. You’ll have access to personalized mentoring to assist with resume writing and interview preparation, as well as priority access to networking events and seminars. Internships can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis and can be flexible to suit your industry preference and university’s credit requirements.
