AmeriCorps/VISTA Marketing and Event Coordinator

This position is a VISTA member position. VISTA members commit to a year of service and receive a monthly stipend ( $1,040) and upon successful completion a cash payout ($1800) or education award ($6,095).

Intent of this position is that at the end of a successful VISTA commitment a full-time w/ benefits position may be offered.

Essential to the Big Brothers Big Sisters brand, the primary function of this position is to ensure that BBBS of Johnson County is a well-known, respected and impactful organization making Johnson County a better community. Position provides leadership in telling our story, impact, supporting volunteers and generating resources to sustain and grow the program. Coordination of events and managing social media and other marketing collateral are essential tasks.

Performance Measures: The successful incumbent will produce positive outcomes in the following areas: increased rates of social media followers and engagers; increased participants at events; increased number of “Gold Star” volunteer applicants.  

Using relevant data and partnering with the Marketing Committee of the BBBSJC Board of Directors to develop a robust annualized social media plan. 

Execute social media plan which shall include: Public awareness, Event promotion, Recruitment of volunteers and donors, Relevant content and resources. 

Coordinate all promotion, sales and logistics of all fundraising events and campaigns.

Manage and update website.

Create new collateral as needed.

Localize existing nationally created collateral and execute national campaigns related to fundraising and recruitment.

Develop local media partnerships to support marketing efforts.

Leverage in-kind advertising with community partners/business.

Assist Executive Director in donor stewardship and management of donor database.
