Quantitative Proteomics and Biomedical Applications - Post Doctorate RA

The Integrative Omics research group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for several postdoctoral positions focusing on mass spectrometry-based proteomics and its enabled applications in several biomedical areas including biomarker research, disease pathogenesis, and cancer systems biology. MS measurements of protein abundances, protein phosphorylation and other posttranslational modifications applying both global and targeted proteomics, including cutting-edge nanoscale proteomics technologies, will be applied for these projects. The candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary team projects in the areas of cancer systems biology, liver disease, chronic pain, and diabetes research. Preferable candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, clinical chemistry, cell biology, systems biology, or closely related fields. Hands-on experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and bioinformatics is a benefit but not required. Research will include proteomics sample processing and biochemical method development and optimization, LC-MS analysis, and data interpretation of global and targeted quantitative proteomic measurements in different sample types. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to assist and lead the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally, they will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations and security requirements and directorate/group policies. The duration of this appointment is two years, with the option of extending the appointment for up to three years, depending on project funding and individual performance.
