Internship: IT Project Management (Summer 2020)

The Hennepin County Information Technology (IT) Department is seeking an Intern currently enrolled in post-secondary or graduate school to participate in an internship in IT Project Management.

About this internship:
This position is a limited duration, temporary, non-benefit earning internship.

Location and hours:
This intern will approximately 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. from May through August 2020 with the possibility of extending the internship on a case-by-case basis.
These opportunities are located at the Government Center 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis 55487.
 
In this internship, you will:
  • Participate in the following activities:
  • Assist in coordination of project team and direct problem analysis and resolution.
  • Execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet approved change requests.
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects, monitor and report on project progress, and provide appropriate status reports to stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of improved project management processes, guidelines and metrics.

Need to have:
  • Current enrollment in an associate, bachelors or master's degree program in project management, information technology, information systems, business administration, or related area.

Nice to have:
  • Project Management and Information Technology knowledge/experience.
