Apprentice, Spring Training Tech
Department: Baseball Operations
Supervisor: Minor League Technology Coordinator
Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (Seasonal)
This Apprentice will work during home games. The approximate dates for this position are 2/22/2020 through 4/03/2020. Compensation will be minimum wage based on hours worked plus time and a half overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in accordance with Florida State and Federal laws.

The Spring Training Technology Apprentice will be responsible for game video and data collection for the Astros Player Development Department in West Palm Beach, FL while reporting to the Minor League Technology Coordinator. Technologies will include but not be limited to:
- Video
- TrackMan Radar
- Blast Motion Swing Sensors
The Astros will train for this position before the start of Major League Spring Training games.
Education and/or Experience:
- Baseball knowledge is required
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Strong Communication Skills
- Accountability
Work Environment
The work will largely be performed at a sports venue (indoor or outdoor- hold/cold environment) that could be heavily crowded with high activity. This job operates both outside on a baseball field and in an office setting. At times the noise could become excessive.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
Rare travel maybe expected in this role.
