Post Doc Research Trainee - Hematopoietic Research

Postdoctoral Position in Hematopoietic Research Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Lionel Blanc PhD at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, Manhasset, NY.
The laboratory studies the molecular bases of the erythroid and skeletal defects in Diamond Blackfan anemia as well as globin regulation in sickle cell disease and erythropoietic defects in anemia of inflammation. In models for these diseases, we seek to increase our understanding of the cellular and molecular pathways leading to these disorders, but also to identify disease-modifying interventions (see relevant articles: J Clin Invest. 2020 Jan 21. pii: 132284. doi: 10.1172/JCI132284, Front Immunol. 2017 Sep 20;8:1140. doi: 10.3389/fimmu.2017.01140., Blood. 2016 Mar 17;127(11):1481-92. doi: 10.1182/blood-2015-09-667923.). We are looking for productive, highly motivated individuals to work in these different areas.
The ideal candidates are expected to think creatively and flourish in an integrated team. A strong background in molecular and cell biology is required and prior expertise in mouse handling and confocal microscopy and image analysis is desired. Qualified candidates must have a PhD in biology or other relevant fields, a strong publication record, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Applicants should submit a CV, including a brief statement of research interest and experience (maximum 1 page), and names of three references to Dr. Blanc at Lblanc@northwell.edu.
