Physical Therapist
Physical therapist needed to join our multi-disciplinary rehab team at the Shenandoah Medical Center in Shenandoah, IA. Perform direct patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatment, and all required paperwork. You will work with your patients in a one on one environment. Patient cares to be provided to acute and swing bed patients in our critical access hospital, or to outpatients in our Wellness Center, which includes an aquatic therapy pool, wound care area, and multiple gym spaces to fit the needs of clients throughout any stage of life. The rehab staff works alongside an experienced group of personal trainers to help assure a safe and directed continuum of care for our patients post-discharge. Primary patient caseload includes general orthopedics in both our inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities to develop specialized areas of interest in specific service lines. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated PT, who has a real interest in working with, and providing outreach to, the community. With a combined 90+ years of experience for our current PT/OT/SLP staff, mentorship opportunities abound.
Job Description: (includes)
· Evaluates outpatient, acute, and swing bed patients and develops patient care plans, provides direct patient care, documents all pertinent information, and educates patients and others regarding the treatment plan and procedures.
· Communicates directly, through documentation, and in various form with referring providers, case workers, third party payers as needed.
· Administers therapeutic treatments utilizing physical agents, biomechanical and neurophysiological principles and assistive devices in relieving pain, restoring maximum functions and preventing disability following disease or injury.
· Provides direct supervision of support personnel and students.
Essential Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s/Master/Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
· Must hold or be eligible for a current Iowa Physical Therapy License.
