Virginia State Parks Interpretive Guide

Spend Your Summer Serving With Virginia State Parks!
As members of the Virginia Service and Conservation Corps Interpretive Trail Project, members will develop and deliver environmental educational programming, recruit volunteers, and lead volunteer service days in parks and natural heritage sites. VSCC partners with AmeriCorps to offer two service periods with different hour commitments available for Summer 2020 service: 450 hour Service Commitment 675 hour Service Commitment.
Service Dates:
 675 Hour Service: April 15, 2020 - Aug 31, 2020
 450 Hour Service: May 15, 2020 - Aug 15, 2020
*Members can serve at any VA State Park and some, but not all, service sites offer housing!
Members receive:
 A living allowance to be provided in bi-weekly stipends during the service period.
 An Education Award upon completion of the program.
All Interpretive Members in Summer 2020 service will receive training in: interpretation techniques, public speaking, and volunteer management. Additional training in canoe-kayak , programming (site- dependent), Interpretive Workshops, Red Cross CPR-AED, and First Aid certifications are also provided.
