Revenue Cycle Summer Intern

Mom’s Meals, is a home-delivered meal service providing fully prepared, refrigerated meal solutions direct to homes nationwide for over 18 years. JOB SUMMARY:
 
We are seeking motivated and energetic individuals who are pursuing a certification or degree in Revenue Cycle, Medical Billing, Finance, or Business Administration and are interested in gaining real-world experience in a fast paced revenue cycle environment.
 
The Mom's Meals Summer Internship Program is a paid project based 11 week program beginning June 1st and ending August 14th. Our project based internship program provides participants with the training, coaching, and hands on experience to be successful professionals in their chosen fields.
 
Our internship assignments focus on practical, value added projects that help create a connection between what is learned in the classroom and what is required in revenue cycle projects.
 
You will gain real-life, hands-on experience in your chosen field of Revenue Cycle, Medical Billing, Finance, or Business Administration. Our successful Interns have the potential to be invited back for future internships or into a full-time position.


As a Mom’s Meals Intern, You will be working on
 
  • Every internship will be focused on different assignment, but they could include the following:
  • Create billing reports of assigned agencies/payers – assigned by billing manager based on department need.
  • Submit accounts receivable claims and/or invoices for weekly/monthly billing of assigned agencies/payers.
  • Reconciliation of assigned state or local agencies/payers.
  • Research and resubmit of denied billings to assigned agencies/payers.
  • Reviewing quality assurance of all referrals or updated clients from assigned state or local agencies/payers.
  • Making outbound & inbound calls, emails to assigned state or local agencies/payers with the purpose of securing correct information regarding new referrals, updated clients, and billings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications


  • Be enrolled as a Full or Part Time Student at a school of higher education
  • Have a GPA of at least a 2.75
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time you begin the internship
  • Intermediate Excel skills necessary.
  • Experience with electronic claims, eligibility, and remits, such as electronic 270/271/835/837 eligibility, remit and claims, and/or learn access/function of secure payer web portals.
