Gain more experience in the natural resources field as you build your resume in the Habitat Technician position! We are looking to hire two individuals. The Habitat Technician position is designed to be a two-year, entry-level job offering fieldwork in conjunction with continuing educational opportunities. The position is intended for individuals who have completed their college degree in either biology, ecology, zoology, or another natural resource related field within the last five calendar years and have an interest in gaining practical training and experience in the natural resources field. Individuals in this position will also have an opportunity to assist with land management projects providing additional practical working experience and skill development in numerous aspects of the discipline of ecological restoration. Additionally, work with our Plant Ecologist in botanical fieldwork and associated data collection, management, and analysis.  While both individuals will have an opportunity to work with all of our Restoration, Plant, and Wildlife Ecologists, one Technician position will focus more on land management while the other position will focus more on plant communities.

What are we looking for? We are looking for two individuals familiar with Midwestern natural history and native plant communities. Someone willing to obtain a valid USDA Pesticide Operator's license and complete prescription burn crewmember training. Individuals should be familiar in Microsoft and ArcGIS software.
