Tax Accountant
Marysville, OH
Responsibilities:
  • Support the indirect tax responsibilities. As a member of the indirect tax team, it will be expected to provide support to the personal property, sales, use, and payroll taxes as needed
  • Aggregate and reconcile fixed asset data to be used in preparation of personal property tax returns and to utilize PTMS to compete the returns.
  • Reviews and maintains calendar of reporting deadlines and compliance requirements for personal property.
  • Reviews and prepares personal property tax billing notices for payment and maintains a process for tracking bills not received prior to their anticipated due date. Will work to resolve billing discrepancies with taxing jurisdictions.
  • Aggregate and reconcile general ledger data from SAP to be used in preparation of sales and use tax returns.
  • Compares source payroll reports against compiled data for use in payroll tax returns and payment requests.
  • Assist in tax accrual reconciliation and tax expense forecasting.
  • Support indirect tax projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Preparing data for use in personal property, sales and use tax returns.
  • Filing of returns for personal property, sales, use and payroll taxes, as well as arranging payments.
  • Recording assessed values and processing tax bills within PTMS for personal property tax.
  • Responding to internal and external information inquiries.
  • Support indirect tax projects and process improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in a related field
  • Must be highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • Must be highly proficient with keeping track of due dates and deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter and works well independent of instruction.
  • Must demonstrate a high value on providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strongly desire a technologically savvy individual with an eye towards automation.
  • Entry-level position. Tax compliance and/or accounting experience (internships, summer work, etc.) a plus.
  • One to three years of multistate indirect tax compliance experience preferred.
  • Able to use a combination of tools such as PTMS, SAP, Vertex and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be a strong communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work in a horizontal, open-floor environment.
