Litigation Paralegal Wanted
 
This position involves working with multiple attorneys to provide a full range of support, including, but not limited to, preparation/revision of correspondence and pleadings. The Litigation Paralegal will also manage discovery, redaction, duplicating, and indexing documents. With attorney supervision, the paralegal prepares chronologies of facts, perform searches and culls relevant information, organizes relevant documents for attorney review for witness interviews and depositions, and assists attorneys in trial preparation.
The successful candidate is a very organized, multi-tasking, detail-oriented team player possessing at least 5 years recent secretarial or law firm experience. Must be able to perform under tight deadlines in a consistently fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
·        Demonstrates knowledge of current cases.
·        Provides support for multiple attorneys in litigation or other related matters for backup support as needed.
·        Assists with preparation of pleadings and discovery in federal and state court matters and arbitration proceedings.
·        Assists with preparation of federal and state administrative filings.
·        Analyzes, reviews, and organizes documents and data from materials produced during discovery.
·        Prepares/coordinates document production and responses to discovery requests.
·        Coordinates production of third-party records and summarizes the records.
·        Prepares deposition outlines and summaries.
·        Analyzes and reviews privileged documents.
·        Prepares and manages trial exhibits and performs other trial related assistance.
·        Answers phones and communicates with clients on a daily basis.
·        Prepares/revises correspondence, pleadings, documents, and other clerical assignments.
·        Handles a wide variety of complex and confidential, time-sensitive material.
Requirements
Qualifications/Skills Required:
·        5 years minimum recent secretarial experience. Experience in a law firm a plus.
·        Typing 65+ wpm
·        Familiarity with billing software a plus.
·        Punctual with excellent attendance.
·        Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent proofreading skills.
·        Ability to multi-task and timely respond to deadlines as well as balance workload.
·        Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
·        Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a cooperative, small office environment and communicate with attorneys and support staff on every level.
 
Educational Requirements
·        High School diploma or equivalent required.
·        Associates degree or 4-year college degree preferred.
·        Paralegal degree or related certificate preferred.
