BPD Contract Head Count for CRP Project, Cell Culture Scientist

Position: R&D Scientist in Biologics Process Design Propagation group; primary function of this position will be mammalian cell culture process development.

Educational Requirements: Candidate must have a MS or BS degree and formal training in one of the following main fields of study; Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Molecular, Cellular & Development Biology, Cellular Physiology or Molecular Biology.

Primary Job Function: Designs and conducts experiments leading to the development and implementation of new mammalian cell culture processes producing monoclonal antibodies. Capable of evaluating and summarizing data using analytical methodologies, interpreting results, drawing conclusions and recommending options for future experiments to achieve project goals. Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines. Presents scientific observations at internal technology reviews.
Experience: Mammalian propagation experience should include demonstrated use of multiple systems such as roller bottles, batch spinners, fed-batch, perfusion or automated bioreactors.  It would be a plus if the candidate had experience in mammalian cell culture process development and optimization for enhanced target molecule expression.
