Virtual Digital Marketing/SEO Summer Internship – (unpaid)
Easy Event Planning LLC (EEP) has an exciting internship opportunity for students to gain critical, measurable, resume-building experience and learn about the essential aspects of digital marketing that are rarely taught in schools.
EEP is a technology company that is changing the way people plan events. We have the most extensive event vendor directory in the United States (more than 400k profiles) and game-changing technology that no one has (an instant chat feature, for example). The site is poised to become very high-profile in the coming years.

Students will learn about and put into practice all of the strategy needed to get content to page 1 of Google: from writing excellent content to optimizing it (onsite and offsite SEO), social media marketing, professional graphic creation (it’s easier than it looks!), content marketing and more. This is a hands-on learning and experience-based internship. This requires students to attend weekly lectures and team meetings to learn the skills and procedures that will help them perform daily tasks, but it is also useful information to apply to their future careers. By the end of the internship, students may have the opportunity to learn the following.
Content Strategy-
- How to write a great blog article based on your niche market
- How to identify content opportunities
- Content hubs
- WordPress Plugin use for advanced-level blog writing
- Directory Optimization (involves vendor outreach, marketing writing for many types of businesses)
Content Marketing-
- Social media marketing (Facebook and Pinterest primarily but possibly also Instagram, Web 2.0, and LinkedIn)
- Other platforms (Reddit, etc.)
Search Engine Optimization
- Understanding how Google’s algorithm works
- On-page search engine optimization (SEO)
- Links
- Contextual link building
- Link building do's & don'ts
- Inbound link building
- Guest post strategy and writing
- Off-page SEO
Monetization
- Affiliate programs
- Google Adsense
This is a highly competitive position. We’re looking for serious-minded students looking to learn, take the initiative, and build their resume skills. You can work from home and create your own schedule. Most communication will take place via Zoom, Skype video, audio, and text communication. This is currently an unpaid internship position but academic credit is offered.
