The IT Intern under the supervision of the IT Manager, will learn skills in system in system networks, service maintenance and troubleshooting, and customer service. Upon completion of the internship, the intern will gain experience in managing and maintaining a network (LAN and WAN), organizational software, system security and managing customer service requests and time management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with network maintenance and troubleshooting requests
  • Inventory and assist with maintaining inventory
  • Assist with network security issues as they arise
  • Assist with web-based systems
  • Become familiar and assist with the IT and website functions of the council

Qualifications
  • At least a Junior standing at a local college or university with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Professional demeanor; comfortable working with staff to follow-up on requests
  • Strong customer service ethic; ensure that all IT and website requests are followed through in a professional manner, with documentation in the Help Desk
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize while working on competing projects
  • Comfortable working independently as well as with a team
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, CMS, HTML, and Adobe Photoshop
