Aquatics Supervisor

The Glenview Park District is proud to operate a dynamic and diverse aquatic program which includes 3 facilities: Splash Landings (a year round indoor), Flick Pool (summer only outdoor), and Roosevelt Pool (summer only outdoor). Our aquatics department offers a wide variety of programs and activities including swim lessons, pool rentals/parties, outdoor food concessions, birthday parties, and special events. In this fun and challenging role, you will be an important part our aquatic management team. Reporting to the Manager of Aquatics, as the Aquatics Supervisor you will also assist with the regular supervision and training of all staff, facility management, budget preparation/planning, program development and implementation, and other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Included in supervision is: Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and supervising the following positions lifeguard, squad leaders, slide attendant and assistant managers.

Qualified candidates should have the following qualifications and skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, Business Administration or related field. Will consider significant and material experience in lieu of formal education.; Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in aquatic or recreation programming and facility management preferred. Clear understanding and knowledge of principles and practices of aquatic facilities and lifeguard training; Certifications: Must be able to acquire the following certifications within: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor Certifications (3 months), Starfish Aquatics Institute Swim Lesson (3 months), Certified Pool Operator License (6 months), Food Handler Certification (6 months), Valid Illinois driver’s license required along with own source of reliable transportation.

This is a full-time year-round position. Daily schedule will vary based on facility hours of operation. Schedule may require a non-traditional working hour due to the nature of the operation and staffing needs. This position shares on-call responsibilities. Target hiring range is $46,000 - $55,000, dependent on qualifications.
