Fall 2020 CHLI Global Leaders Internship

The CHLI Global Leaders Internship Program provides an opportunity to a select number of young leaders to further develop their leadership skills and gain mentorship from leaders in Washington, D.C. Since 2004, more than 200 students have completed the program and are now members of the CHLI Alumni Association. The CHLI Global Leaders Program offers students hands-on experience with leaders in both the U.S. Congress and corporate offices while also earning academic credit hours.
 
HOW IT WORKS
Interns and fellows are placed in a Congressional office for half the semester and a corporate office for the second half. In addition, participants are enrolled in the Semester in Washington program at a local University. Students earn academic credit upon satisfactory completion of the program. The program runs in the Fall and Spring semesters (concurrently with the Academic Year).

INTERNSHIP UPDATE 05/30/2020
The semester-long program will officially be VIRTUAL for the Fall. Here is what you can expect:
  1. Congressional virtual internship experience
  2. Corporate public policy virtual experience with a Washington, D.C. office
  3. Online soft skills and professional development workshops
  4. Monthly stipend
  5. Scholarship for your Fall semester coursework
  6. Weekly virtual networking opportunities with influential leaders
  7. Enrollment in the CHLI Alumni Association to build your network and establish new relationships

PROGRAM BENEFITS
The program places interns at the heart of policy-making. Interns gain educational and hands-on experience in areas such as legislative research and analysis. In addition, interns learn about the day-to-day activities of a Congressional office and corporate government affairs office. The program also provides interns training in business etiquette and offers networking opportunities.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
-Must be available for the duration of the full program dates and complete the entire semester.
-Must be a currently enrolled Junior, Senior, or within one year after graduation at the start of the program. All majors are encouraged to apply.
-All persons selected for an internship will be required to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form.
