Laboratory Assistant

We are in search of a Laboratory Assistant in Johnston, Iowa. The lab assistant will be responsible for seeding and recording germination rates of plants, which is the first step for successful production. Under guidance from supervision, assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research.

Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities:

· Shake seeds onto a board with holes designed to guide the seeds.

· Assure that seeds settle into planting material

· Roll up the material and sort for storage and future inspection

· Track percentages of germination (viability)

· Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.

Laboratory Assistant Requirements:

· Agricultural and seeding or laboratory experience desired

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Detail oriented

· Closed toe shoes with plain t-shirts and jeans/shorts (below the knee)
