NNSA Graduate Fellowship Program
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Graduate Fellowship Program (NGFP) prepares highly motivated graduate students for a career in national security. The program is sponsored by NNSA and administered by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
This is a 12-month, salaried position working within NNSA program offices in Washington D.C. or at NNSA Field Offices nationwide. Fellows work alongside the nation’s leading scientists, engineers, and policy experts to help implement NNSA programs domestically and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be enrolled through a graduate degree program on the application due date or have graduated on or after April 2, 2019
· Minimum 3.20/4.00 cumulative GPA in graduate studies at an accredited college or university.
· Selected applicants enrolled in Fall semester/quarter with no previous graduate-level grades must supply official transcripts demonstrating eligibility no later than January 15, 2021.
· Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Pursuing or having completed a Masters’ degree or PhD in a STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics) or Policy field.
· Successful candidate demonstrates the ability to work across technical and policy spaces, practices effective communication skills and has an interest in national security.
Additional Requirements:
· Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
· Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
· Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 consecutive months can be demonstrated.
