Patient Journey Associate

Journimap is seeking a summer intern who is also a graduate student with studies focused in a health care related field. Responsibilities will include learning to use the cloud-based Journimap application, gaining necessary insights to drive project design, conducting Journimap-based qualitative research via online surveys and then reporting out on findings. To date, Journimap projects have been completed in days, weeks and months depending upon complexity of subject and the participation rates of survey participants. Training in Journimap will be provided at the start of the internship and then work is expected to progress into a combination of independently run projects as well as frequent collaborations with the company founder on joint projects.

Qualified candidates should be able to offer professional and/or academic insights into current trends and topics related to patient experience and health care issues in the United States. Engagement with social media based communities focused on health care matters will likely be a part of these internship projects so basic familiarity and comfort with popular platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, others) will be necessary. The Journimap application contains algorithms and calculations that run behind the scenes and produce both visual and data-centric results from qualitative data generated via remote ethnography concepts. However, data from multiple Journimap projects can be aggregated and analyzed utilizing multiple approaches so some knowledge of basic quantitative analysis tools and/or content analysis methodologies would also be useful.

All Journimap projects can be completed remotely and online. If conditions permit, and are appropriate, a bench space at an approved co-working facility may be provided to facilitate work during the internship. Collaborative and remote work will be facilitated via regular Zoom sessions, emails and telephone conversations as needed.

If a candidate for this role has a relevant subject of focus in a health care field then some Journimap project work conducted during the summer may be shaped to support the intern's own graduate research or other professional endeavors. If interested, candidates should be ready to propose and scope project work to be completed during the summer for review and potential approval by Journimap's founder.
