Lab Operations Analyst


Position Summary  

The Lab Operations Analyst is a newly created role, supporting a support a life science team with innovative tools and operations support. The ideal candidate has a scientific background, is very computer and software savvy, enjoys data analytics, and has proven project management skills.  The Lab Operations Analyst role is ideal for someone who functions well in a team, and who can find innovative solutions and champion change. 

The Role  

Support Director of Biologics and the Biologics Department in following activities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in solutions to support labs such as scheduling, LIMS, data analysis tools
  • Perform metrics and analytics on data sets as needed.
  • with guidance, assists in the execution of efficiency improvement project
  • Serve as project manager for instrument/equipment implementation/validation projects
  • Support the department in data integrity efforts such as periodic assessment scheduling/completion
  • Support development of tools to support business as needed based on capability/knowledge
  • Provide/support department in continuous improvement efforts as requested - either by identifying opportunities, leading or participating

The Candidate  

  • Degree in life sciences such as chemistry or closely related physical science with stong data analytics/computer skills.   Bachelor’s Degree: 7-9 years of relevant experience preferred or based on performance at Catalent; Master’s Degree: 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred or based on performance at Catalent. Doctorate Degree: 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred or based on performance at Catalent. 
  • Knowledge of GMPs is helpful
  • Executes projects and general job function of moderate complexity with high quality.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to learn new systems and serve as an expert or department administrator for the system(s).
  • Ability to effectively train peers and management on new systems and tools or processes.
