Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking outstanding candidates who are interested in making a difference in the lives of fellow Nebraskans. We are looking for candidates who are action oriented, customer focused and organized to work in a fast paced, high volume work environment.

Location: Omaha Hamilton Office or Omaha Intake Center
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00 pm

Examples of Work
Located in our Omaha Local Office your day would include performing office support for Economic Assistance and other divisions as needed. This involves receiving customers, operating various equipment such as scanning/imaging equipment, multi-line telephones and computers, entering and filing data, searching records, and keyboarding. You would review customer applications for completeness, scan and index documents. You would also utilize critical thinking skills connecting customers with appropriate staff and schedule appointments in Outlook and assist customers to use a kiosk to complete applications and report changes. You would assist in maintaining an orderly reception area and interview rooms, stock brochures and paper applications, check the drop box regularly throughout the day, process mail and update the daily customer walk-in report.
 
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, working in a human services setting, using computer systems or office applications or performing office/secretarial support functions.

PREFERRED: - Experience using NFOCUS - Experience in using office equipment - Experience in using Microsoft Office suite, specifically, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, & Outlook. - Bilingual Skills (Spanish)

OTHER: Valid Drivers license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Position may require long periods of sitting and occasional light lifting.
