Contract Specialist

This Contract Specialist position supports cradle to grave contracting requirements for the F-35 program. This includes the design, development, procurement, operation, and maintenance of F-35 aircraft, F135 engines, and associated equipment. 
• Negotiate contracts and perform contract administration with major defense contractors for the development, production, and sustainment of aircraft systems, propulsion systems, and sustainment/support systems.
• Provide acquisition planning; conduct cost/price proposal analysis; negotiate contract cost and terms/conditions, draft contract awards/modifications; and perform contract administration.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis, analyze methods used by contractors in preparing cost estimates, and determine the reasonableness of such methods.
• Perform analysis of procurement requests, research market trends and availability, and prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and contract award documentation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required. The minimum educational requirement is a baccalaureate degree with at least 24 semester hours (or equivalent) in business-related courses and an overall GPA of 2.95 or higher. Priority consideration may be given to those candidates with a cumulative GPA of a 3.45 or higher on all undergraduate work. Business-related courses may be in any of the following disciplines: accounting, business, economics, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
