Head of Marketing (Valeon)

Valeon is a Beijing based EdTech startup. We are disrupting the education industry and are the first mover with critical mass in “productizing” world-class talent to deliver superior educational outcomes at scale. Our team is led by alumni from leading global institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Alibaba, Harvard, and Oxford, and comprise a diverse group of individuals with impressive accomplishments including: 3x national chess champion, Rhodes and Schwarzman scholarship winners, social media guru with 3mm WeChat followers, top 5 at world's largest robotics competition, founding member of Teach for China, AI expert who led team to surpass Tesla's computer vision algorithm in 6 months, entrepreneurs who have successfully sold companies, etc.

Our investors include the current & former global Chairmen of Rolls Royce, McKinsey, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

The marketing director will report directly to the CEO, and this position will comprehensively coordinate marketing work for all products. As a marketing director, this position needs to have excellent strategic thinking ability and comprehensive management ability, constantly optimize and adjust the market team structure, and optimize team efficiency; candidates need to have excellent data analysis ability and cost management ability. Brand promotion, etc., provide effective resources for sales, control marketing costs, and promote the development of company performance.

Core responsibilities
  • Formulate overall strategy and financial budget of the marketing team, and be fully responsible for coordinating the company's marketing functions, including but not limited to paid market launch, brand public relations promotion, external cooperation, and user operations to support the company's short-, medium-, and long-term development strategies;
  • Optimize and improve the market team structure, lead the market team from channel-oriented to function-oriented transformation, set up corresponding teams according to the organizational structure, and set clear goals and performance management systems for the teams;
  • Responsible for online market launch, attract high-quality sales resources for the sales team, and continuously optimize and improve the core financial data such as input-output ratio and user acquisition cost of online launch;
  • Establish a unified data system for the marketing team and continuously optimize the return on investment of existing and new market channels based on the data;
  • Responsible for the management of the company's brand, including but not limited to optimizing existing brand positioning, brand management, brand launch, etc .;
  • Responsible for managing the company's existing brand projects-scholarship projects to achieve the company's market share and brand exposure in strategic markets;
  • Work with the company's CEO and other senior management teams to build the company's public relations image.

Empirical knowledge
  • 8-10 years of successful marketing experience in vertical fields;
  • Have working experience in startup market;
  • Online and offline paid marketing promotion experience based on data and investment return analysis;
  • Management of multi-level market management experience with more than 50 people;
  • Have successful brand management experience;
  • Top education background, overseas experience is preferred.
