Intern - Data Analytics
Position Overview:
The Intern assists with collection, filtering and exploration of large datasets from both internal systems and external sources. The position will contribute to the monitoring, analysis and communication of data-driven results as it relates to the organization’s lending portfolio trends, credit quality, and stress testing. The Intern will assist team members with applying data mining, analysis and spreadsheet skills to identify and quantify risks.
This is a paid internship; however, intern must provide own housing and transportation. This internship will begin September 2021 and end May 2022 and applicant should be enrolled in a university. We are open to the following locations: Lakeville, MN or Normal, IL.
Essential Functions:
- Collect, scrub and process large datasets into usable formats.
- Examine assumptions for internal model development and validation efforts.
- Perform analysis on an as-needed basis on data to identify trends or relationships.
- Perform ad hoc projects to analyze targeted portfolio risks and opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working towards completing a mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or related degree, with 1-2 years completed.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications such as Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of database programming such as SQLR or SAS.
- Understanding of statistical analysis and/or econometrics.
- Exceptional skills and abilities in client service, teamwork, and time management.
