Fast Track Program Trainee

POSITION SUMMARY
 
The FAST Track Program is CMA CGM’s premiere college graduate accelerated career program within CMA CGM (America) and the CMA CGM Group globally. While earning a full competitive salary, FAST Track Program Trainees in this 18 month rotational program will participate in an intensive training program that will provide the working experience and training needed to advance to higher level roles, gaining knowledge and training that typically takes at least 3 years. At the end of the 18 month training program, candidates will be placed in a position with CMA CGM (America) suitable for their competencies and skill sets including potential for an international assignment.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (18 Months)
Orientation: Months 1-2
  • Gain overview of CMA CGM Company
  • Gain basic knowledge of shipping and CCA processes
  • Understand to core systems applications including LARA and Ocean
  • Develop basic knowledge needed to be successful: Booking, Documentation & Customer Service
  • Gain understanding of USA legal environment
  • Develop basic skills with core systems applications: LARA, OCEAN, DIVA
  • Work with Process Engineering on projects to apply learning
 
Functional Department Rotations Months 3 - 12
Training will be provided in instructor-led classes and job shadowing. Knowledge acquired each week will then be applied in practical hand-on assignments.
  • Rotate through jobs/functions to gain basic skills within selected departments including, but not limited to the following departments:
  • Operations / Intermodal
  • Export Services
  • Import Services
  • Claims
  • Hazardous Cargo
  • Export Trade
  • Sales / Inside Sales
 
 
  • Work on defined production tasks according to plans
  • Understand goals and jobs
  • Assess capabilities within each function and job
  • Prepare supplemental business case analysis
 
Job Placement – Final 6 Months of Program Months 12-18
Skill will be developed in the job assignment in the last 6 months of the Fast Track experience
  • Assigned to specific functional role based upon functional rotations.
  • Coordinate experience within job assignments
  • Prepare transition to permanent role within CMA CGM (America) or international assignment.

  • Proven learning agility with ability to be exposed to new processes and acquired new information quickly.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft applications, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (listening, written and verbal)
  • High analytical ability with demonstrated talent for identifying, improving and streamlining complex processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a preferred field of study
  • An overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S. without sponsorship or VISA
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to participate in the Program and again at the completion of the program.
