Postdoctoral Scientist - Translational Oncology

Your Role:
We are seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral position in the Translational Oncology group at EMD Serono. The candidate will work in our state-of-the-art EMD Serono Research and Development Institute located in Billerica, MA, and closely interact with the Oncology drug discovery labs. The successful candidate will study cellular response to DNA damage using novel small molecules in development for cancer therapy. While addressing important scientific questions by cutting-edge research, the postdoctoral scientist will have the opportunity to expand his/her knowledge and experience in an industry setting.
 
Postdoctoral tenure at EMD Serono is for two years, with the option to extend for an additional year. Postdoc salaries are competitive, commensurate with other industry programs. EMD Serono offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes; medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) savings and retirement account plan. Postdocs are also eligible to receive a yearly bonus based on individual and company performance.
 
Who you are
Minimum Requirements:
  • Recent PhD graduate in Molecular or Cell Biology or other related Science discipline
 
Preferred Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in cancer research. Expertise in one or the following areas is highly desirable: DNA repair, checkpoint control of cell cycle, p53, apoptosis, senescence 
  • First-author research publications in high impact scientific journals
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with colleagues
