Surgical Tech, Ellsworth, Maine

$1,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions(Sign-on bonus paid in two installments ($500 upon 30 days of employment and $500 upon one year anniversary)

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the surgeon in the Operating Room and in the scrub rile for the surgical procedures including preparing, assembling, counting, retracting, and handling surgical instrumentation. Participates as a member of the perioperative team in regards to preparing the surgical suite for safe patient care. Assists with circulator duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited surgical technician school OR equivalent combination of experience and education as a scrub tech OR CST students in their last semester preparing to graduate.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least two years functioning as a member of a surgical team in the role of scrub tech ORgraduate of an accredited surgical technologist program within the past six months OR CST studentsin their last semester preparing to graduate. With additional education and training, some surgical technicians may function in the role of Surgical First Assistant.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Surgical Technician certification preferred.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current BLS certification required.
