About Mercy Hospital Iowa City
Mercy Iowa City is an acute care hospital and regional referral center that draws patients from throughout southeast Iowa. The hospital’s major services include: 24-hour emergency care with wait times typically less than 10 minutes from arrival to triage Heart and vascular care, including a cardiac catheterization lab, Orthopedic care, Maternity care, Cancer care, Digestive services, General surgery, Wound and Vein Care.

Mercy is accredited by The Joint Commission. Mercy Iowa City provides private beds: 234 acute care beds (6 designated for hospice care in a special unit) 25 rooms outpatient surgery 23 bed nursery, including Level II neonatal intensive care Mercy’s medical staff is comprised of more than 250 doctors representing all major medical specialties and most subspecialties. Many Mercy doctors conduct their outpatient practice in offices in the community.
- The Mercy campus near downtown Iowa City includes the hospital, medical office building, and cancer center. We have several clinic locations.
