Responsibilities

Responsible for the implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite Application and installation, maintenance, and support of Oracle E-Business, Mongo, and MS SQL Server technologies. Performs application and database patching and cloning and defines new applications, responsibilities, and concurrent programs as well as auto-configuration and performance tuning. Supports database technologies through deployments, applying bug fixes, upgrading database versions, and backup and recovery. Works independently on complex issues and technical projects and closely with development team to resolve data/code issues and make recommendations. Defines and enhances database backup, security, and operational standards and process documents. Troubleshoots and solves database and application performance and availability issues, including tracing session and tuning SQL queries, JVM and database parameters, and server level settings. Reviews stress testing results and provides SQL and database tuning recommendations to development teams as well as reviews current business processes and makes improvements, including automation of routine tasks, and other team member work and make recommendations on same. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with a minimum of five years of progressive IT experience, including three years of experience in installation, upgrade, patching, and support of Oracle databases 11g/12c and administering Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 and that includes experience supporting MS SQL Server databases 2008/2012/2016 and with Mongo database technology, Oracle RMAN for backup and recovery, Oracle ASM, Database and application performance tuning, bash/PowerShell scripting on Unix and Windows platforms. Telecommuting possible anywhere in the U.S. after one year of employment at ACT’s Iowa City, IA headquarters – remote living benefit.
