The Office of Licensing and Accreditation within the Department of Social Services is looking for an individual who is committed to service, has excellent communication and organizational skills, and is dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being, and quality of care for individuals receiving services.
The Department of Social Services licenses and accredits the following:
  • community mental health centers;
  • outpatient and residential substance use disorder treatment providers;
  • prevention services;
  • family foster homes;
  • child placement agencies;
  • shelter care facilities;
  • group care centers for minors;
  • residential treatment centers;
  • intensive residential treatment centers;
  • independent living programs;
  • child care programs.
This position will lead a team to oversee licensing and accreditation to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, laws, and budgetary requirements; serve as a liaison to share information across interdepartmental and interdisciplinary teams and workgroups; and effectively communicate regarding goals of the office and department. This position will work closely with other divisions within the Department of Social Services and other stakeholders. 
This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act. 
Ideal Candidate will Have:
Degree in a human services, public administration, or other related field with at least one year of administrative and/or supervisory experience. Preference for individuals with leadership experience and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain successful teams and effective working relationships. 
Knowledge:
  • theories and concepts related to best practices in the areas of licensing and accreditation;
  • management, personnel management, and supervisory principles;
  • administrative practices and procedures;
  • budget practices and procedures;
  • state and federal laws and regulations relating to licensing and accreditation.

  • prepare clear and concise documentation, reports, and correspondence that reflect relevant facts.
