Residence Hall Director

Puqi Education Consultancy is recruiting residence hall directors for New Oriental Bilingual School Jinhua located in Jinhua, Zhejiang, China. This is a 12-month, full-time, residence hall director position with full benefits and visa sponsorship. Successful applicants will sign the employment contract directly with New Oriental Bilingual School Jinhua.

Job Title: Residence Hall Director (2 positions available)
Location: Jinhua, Zhejiang, China

Monthly salary (pre-tax): 20,000RMB-30,000RMB ($2,820-$4,230/month based on degree and experience)
Working hours per day: 8 hours
On-board date: August 1, 2020

Essential Functions:
  • Supervise and support the students in the dorm, take care of student’s daily living with the assistance of domestic staff.
  • Interact with students outside the classroom and collaborate with faculty to understand each student's academic and personal goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, serve as a means of support when students needs advice on personal or academic matters.
  • Serve as an advisor with an emphasis on both student and parent communication.
  • Plan and lead evening and weekend activities. Support other school activities through planning, participation and supervision.
  • Work with the residential team to plan and implement the residential curriculum and programming.

Skills/qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in education, English or linguistics.
  2. Two (2) years of related work experience.
  3. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (can be obtained by online training)
  • Previous English teaching and residential assistant experience preferred.
  • Experience with TOEFL and SAT/ACT preparation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities are required.
  • Ability to work as a team member and lead by example.
  • Ability to work with, care for and supervise young people.
  • Relate well with young people, be compassionate, flexible, level headed, organized, energetic.
  • Ability to be proactive, reliable, and flexible, accept morning and night shifts.
  • Background check clearance form is required.
