Puqi Education Consultancy is recruiting teachers for New Oriental Bilingual School Jinhua located in Jinhua, Zhejiang, China. This is a 12-month, full-time, art teaching position with full benefits and visa sponsorship. Successful applicants will sign the employment contract directly with New Oriental Bilingual School Jinhua.

Job Title: Art Teacher
Location: Jinhua, Zhejiang, China

Monthly salary (pre-tax): 20,000RMB-30,000RMB ($2,820-$4,230/month based on degree and experience)
Classes per week: Around 24 classes
Teaching grade: 1-12
Working hours per day: 8 hours
Class size: maximum 25 students per class
On-board date: August 1, 2020
Extra duties: Evening study hall supervision, boarding support, etc. (1-2 times/teacher/month)

 Essential Functions:
A. Curriculum and guidelines:
  • Have solid knowledge and understanding of the teaching subject(s).
  • Answer subject-related questions from students and understand students’ common misconceptions and mistakes in the subject(s).
  • Follow the school curriculum and assessment guidelines.
B. Class planning and setting expectations:
  • Identify clear teaching objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught.
  • Set appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning and motivation. Set clear targets for students' learning based on students’ backgrounds and experiences.
  • Identify students’ strengths and weaknesses, be able to provide accommodation for students with special needs, and get assistance in order to provide positive and targeted support. Where applicable, implement and keep records on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
C. Assessment and evaluation:
  • Assess how well learning objectives are achieved by students and use the assessment for future teaching.
  • Grade and monitor students’ class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback.
  • When applicable, understand the demands and expectations of China’s National Curriculum.
D. Relations with parents and community:
  • Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
  • Serve as a facilitator to strengthen the communication and cooperation between parents and school.
  • Help organize and participate in regular PTA meetings.

Skills/qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in education
  2. State teaching certificate
  3. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (can be obtained by online training)
  4. Two (2) years of work experience in art field.
  • Warm and supportive personality.
  • Patience and responsible when dealing with students.
  • Background check clearance form is required.
